The Founder-Principal of UBS, Rev. Dr. Honest J. Kline , was, in the first place, the Principal of a Marathi-medium Bible School opened by the Free Methodist Church in Yavatmal, Maharashtra. This school was established to prepare pioneers for the nearby temples. Notwithstanding, a few improvements occurred after World War II, and the mechanism of guidance was changed to English when it was discovered that few church and mission bunches other than the Free Methodist communicated their craving to send possibility for pastoral preparing to the school. The Evangelical Fellowship of India was established in 1951, and not long after the collaborating church and mission bunches concluded that there should be made accessible clerical preparing of a decent norm to those called to serve in the congregation.
