Secondary Training College, Mumbai is the Premier Teacher Training College. The school was set up in January 1906 according to the suggestions of Wood’s Despatch of 1854 in the Bombay Presidency and solid advances taken by Hon. Emissary Lord Curzon.
Secondary Training College, Mumbai is the pioneer in advancing educator preparation system and new strategies of instructing in then Bombay Presidency and at present in Maharashtra State.
Already the school appreciated autonomous status and used to grant its own recognition the Secondary Training College Diploma (S.T.C.D.) which should be a very prestigious one back then.
At present this Training College, Mumbai is controlled by Directorate of Higher Education Pune under the leadreship of Department of Higher Education Manatralaya, Mumbai.
