National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, Hyderabad was set up in 1987, as the National Center for Management of Agricultural Extension at Hyderabad, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India as a self-ruling Institute, from which its abbreviation ‘MANAGE’ is determined.
In acknowledgment of its significance and development of exercises everywhere on the nation, its status was raised to that of a National Institute in 1992 and re-initiated to its current name i.e., National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.
