B. Borooah College was set up in the year 1943 for the sake of Bholanath Borooah, a doyen of Assamese business and a nearby partner of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaruah. It became under the shadow of World War II and as a piece of the nationalistic battle contrary to the unfamiliar standards.
Classes (evening) began from the thirteenth of September 1943 with 15 understudies in the premises of Kamrup Academy H.S. School.
The pioneers of the school previously began it as a night school so as to offer a chance to the helpless understudies to seek after their higher investigations as they procured their job during the day. The school has been related to the names of numerous famous characters.
