The 10th and 12th board exams will be held in April or May

School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said on Thursday, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education is planning to conduct class 10th and 12th board exams in the last week of April or the first week of May.

In view of the relevance of the current academic year for the students of class IX and XI, the Education Department is giving main concern to their studies and examination system so that they do not suffer any academic loss in the next year’s board examination.

The minister clarified that discussions are going on with teachers, principals, and education experts with regard to 10th and 12th board exams. Meanwhile, from November 23, at least 3.00 lakh students from ninth to twelfth grade are participating in schools in 25 districts of the state.

In particular, Class 9 to 12th has started smoothly in some districts of Maharashtra. The number of students in these classes is also increasing day by day. It is a matter of great satisfaction that students and teachers have not been infected with the corona outbreak.

Gaikwad said, however, that since it is not easy for children to follow social distancing and health guidelines in school, we have not yet taken any action to start classes 1 to 8.
