What is NIOS?

NIOS means National Institute of Open Schooling, a board recognized by the Government of India. It was established in 1989 and was established by the Government of India keeping in mind the poor children.

This is for all those who are from a poor class or cannot give time due to work or all those who want to continue their studies.
There are around 15–16 Open School Boards in India. National Institute of Open Schooling is an institution of the Central Government, these institutes are open to anyone who wants to study through it.
NIOS provides the facility for 10th and 12th studies and exams. You can study in National Institute of Open Schooling while sitting at home. You only need to go to the study center for practical and exam.
Students who have failed in the 12th examination of any board can go to NIOS board and take admission through TOC.

When is the exam and how to enroll

For admission to NIOS, students can visit the nearest NIOS Regional Center to fill the online application form. Students can visit Common Service Centers which are under the government for registration
NIOS conducts public examination twice a year i.e. in April / May and October / November. The exam held in April / May, whose result comes out in June, and the result of the examination held in October / November, is published in the first week of December.
A third examination is also conducted National Institute of Open Schooling, an on-demand examination, it can be conducted every month of the year except the month of public examination.
For admission to NIOS, students can visit the nearest National Institute of Open Schooling Regional Center to fill the online application form. Students can visit Common Service Centers which are under the government for registration

Are NIOS certificates valid?

The certificate given by NIOS is valid with India also abroad, its certificate is valid for UPSC, BPSC, Railway, Bank, NEET, IIT, Air Force, Navy, or any competitive exam. It is also valid for any university or institute for further studies and or is the largest open school board in the world.
