Agricultural History in India is coming from the Indus Valley Civilization. India has been an agricultural country since its inception and Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. What is agriculture?

  • Commerce (trade): Because whole agriculture production is linked to marketing, which questions the profit or loss.

Thus Agriculture is a very broad term in which all aspects of crop production, animal farming, fisheries, forestry etc. have been included.

 Agriculture has emerged as an important sector in the Indian economy. India is the second largest country in the world, having the most agricultural land. This is the reason that it is given the name of an agricultural country. A large population (62%) here is dependent on agriculture-based employment. At present, India is playing an important role in the global agricultural market. According to one figure, the contribution of the agriculture sector to GDP is close to 18 percent, while India is providing about 11 percent of the total exports. Today, India is the largest exporter of rice and the second in wheat exports. According to the data for 2013-14, the agriculture sector is growing at 5.2-5.7 percent per year, while organic farming growth is 20-25 percent annually and organic food market is of more than Rs 2000 crores.

Sc. in Agriculture), it is necessary to have 10 + 2 pass with 50 percent marks in Science stream. The duration of the course is four years. B. Sc. or BTech degree is essential for two-year master’s program. After the master’s degree (MSc / MTech), the path of Ph.D. becomes easier.
